舉行日期：4月15日 (星期日)
環保觸覺成立於2004年，是香港的非牟利慈善團體。我們希望透過調查、監察，點出社會有違環保的現象，並把分析結果傳遞予大眾，以提高香港市民環保意識及觸覺，從而達至一個更環保的社會，令下一代的生活及生態環境得到保障。

七年來我們為過百不同的議題發聲，包括城市規劃、節能減碳、廢物回收、保護海洋生態、減用即棄餐具，改善濫用空調等等不同範疇，從監察政府及公私營機構的運作是否合乎環保，提出改善建議，至協助學界推動環保教育，為社會培育未來棟樑。

過往的工作成果使我們十分鼓舞，包括成功爭取限制樓宇「發水」、招股書無紙化等等；而環保觸覺過往舉辦的活動也深得社會各界支持，過去的香港無冷氣夜2010及2011、「袋袋相傳‧生生不息」系列活動、「綠色節日」系列活動如「綠色學校聖誕學校計劃」、商界「少用花紙」等等。

「環保觸覺慈善步行籌款2012」是本會一年一度的慈善籌款活動，旨在加強市民的自然保育意識，培養大眾對環保的關注與興趣。東涌雖鄰近香港國際機場，但沿岸一帶不乏優美的自然景觀，東涌灣也是香港富生態價值的濕地之一，參加者更可有機會發現泥灘中的小動物如招潮蟹和彈塗魚等。



活動目的
是次步行籌款主要目的是透過親身參與，宣揚環境保育的重要性。讓市民欣賞東涌郊外迷人景色及享受一個寓教育於遊樂的郊遊日的同時，了解香港本地生態價值及歷史文化，從而更珍惜香港及世界天然資源，保護野生動物及文化遺產。

參加者可提高對生物多樣性和人文生態的認知，讓市民認識如何於日常生命可減少自己對環境的影響，為下一代締造更美好的世界。


另外本會希望藉此活動讓公眾認識環保觸覺的工作，為本會籌款，作為本地環境保育及教育項目工作的經費。

當日本會的生態導賞員會在途中介紹生態與歷史景點，為參加者講解生態知識如紅樹、海岸生態、城市發展對自然環境與及當地社區的影響等。

Event Introduction

Event Date: 15th April 2012

Green Sense, established in 2004 and registered as Charitable Institutions in 2010. We aim to point out the non-environmental friendly practice in society through research and monitoring. We enhance the environmental consciousness by education and publicity, in order to ultimately achieve an environmental friendly society, for the sake of our next generation.

In the past seven years, Green Sense opined over a hundred issues such as urban planning, energy saving & carbon reduction, waste recycling, protection of marine ecosystem, reducing the use of disposable utensils, stop abusing air conditioning, etc. We also monitor governmental and corporate operations and provide suggestions to improve their environmental performance.  Furthermore, we promote environmental education to schools so as to foster the youth for contributing a greener society in the future. 

We have gained supports from various stakeholders of the community through our campaigns such as “No Air Con Night 2010 and 2011”, “Plastic Bags – Regenerating by Reuse and Recycle” series, the “Green Festival” series such as “Green Xmas Schools” , “Use Less Wrapping Paper” etc.

“Green Sense Walkathon 2012” is our annual fund raising event, intend to arouse citizen’s awareness about conservation of the nature, as well as concern and interest to environmental protection. Although part of the Tung Chung is developed into a new town, the adjacent area and the coastal line is full of beautiful natural scenery. Tung Chung Bay is also a famous wetland where you may discover living organisms in the mangroves such as fiddler crab and mudskipper.

Event Objective

Our target is to promote the importance of environmental protection and conservation through participation. While enjoying the beautiful landscape of Tung Chung countryside and spend a weekend joyfully, you could also comprehend the unique ecology, history and culture of Hong Kong , so as to treasure our natural resources, and to protect the wildlife and cultural heritage, both locally and globally.

Participants could also enrich the understanding of biodiversity and human ecology, and ways to minimize environmental impacts in our daily life, in order to improve the environment for our next generation.

Apart from the above, we hope this event can be a channel for the public to perceive the works of Green Sense and support our fund-raising for the local environmental protection and conservation as well as educational projects.

On that day, our tour guides will introduce the ecological and historical values at difficult spots, by sharing the information about the ecology, such as mangrove, coastal ecosystem, impacts of urban development towards natural environment and local communities.

東涌港鐵站 → 東涌炮台 → 侯王廟 → 東涌灣 → 䃟頭村 → 沙螺灣 (東澳古道部份路段)
本會將安排渡輪返回東涌新碼頭解散，而由碼頭步行返回東涌港鐵站約需十分鐘






景點一：東涌炮台
東涌炮台現址面積為70乘80米，城牆以花崗石砌成，設有三度拱形城門，分別為北面正門的「拱辰門」、東面的「接秀門」及西面的「聯庚門」。向北面的城牆上目前仍現存6門大炮，東面設有4門而西面只有兩門，分置於花崗石及水泥的基座上，有鑄於1805年、1809年和1843年的，炮身刻有漢字，寫有鑄造年份，據學者考證此6門大炮並非炮台原有，而是由不同炮台移來作裝飾之用。







景點二：侯王廟
面向東涌灣，現被列為香港二級歷史建築。東涌侯王古廟建於清朝乾隆三十年（1765年），供奉南宋名臣楊亮節。這是當地村民從九龍城侯王廟請來，以求制服瘟疫的。由於相傳楊亮節在保護宋帝昺曾在東涌灣外與元軍海戰，故將廟宇選址於此。






景點三：東涌河
是香港大嶼山的一條河流，源自彌勒山及地塘仔的山溪，流經石門甲、稔園、石榴埔至牛凹，最終在東涌戶外營一帶流入東涌灣。東涌河是具生態價值的河流之一，扶養超過20種香港原生淡水魚，以及多種具保育價值的物種，包括罕有的北江光唇魚（Acrossocheilus beijiangensis）及米魚（Oryzias curvinotus）。



景點四： 䃟頭村
䃟頭村是歷史悠久的古村，與許多鄉村一樣，村民大部分已搬往市區或移居海外，村內有一列古舊青磚屋，門前貼有門神和對聯，你可從中了解到村民的居住環境和生活文化。





景點五：瞭望台
從䃟頭走到沙螺灣，中段有一瞭望台，可遠眺機場，看到飛機魚貫升降。









景點六：沙螺灣
沙螺灣是由包括沙螺灣村及沙螺灣新村等小村組成的古村，早已有人居住，在海灣畔有一座始於乾隆39年的把港大王廟（亦稱為「把港古廟」和「洪聖廟」），已有超過200年歷史。

3. 最後付款日期：2012年4月3日 (二)
   如本會在最後付款日期前仍未收到最低籌款額，閣下之報名將視作自動取消。

4. 填妥網上報名表後，只需傳真或電郵付款證明予我們，我們將在確認付款後2日內回覆閣下。付款證明包括：入數紙或網上過數確認付款項，連同參加公司名稱、參加者姓名及電話，電郵或傳真本會。

5. 參加學校／公司機構／團體可以將填妥之報名表，連同支票或入數紙郵寄予本會。

6. 參加學校／公司機構／團體亦可先填妥報名表，經本會確認後，再以本會提供之籌款表格籌款，並於最後付款日期（2012年4月3日 (二)）將表格連款項交回本會。

7. 參加者證書及捐款收據將於活動當日派發。除個人參加者外，其他參加者證書將以學校／公司機構／團體名義或隊伍名義發出。

8. 支票付款：抬頭為「環保觸覺香港有限公司」，請將支票連同參加者姓名及電話，寄往

11. 所有參加者請務必閱讀本會提供的步行籌款活動備忘及免責條款，以了解當天的安排、注意事項及相關責任。

當日安排：
1. 除當天上午八時懸掛三號或以上熱帶氣旋警告信號、紅色或黑色暴雨警告訊號以外，活動將會如期舉行。倘若天氣情況不理想，參與者及家長仍可自行決定參加與否。

2. 如活動因上述惡劣天氣取消，活動將會順延一星期，即四月二十二日舉行。

3. 如參加者未能出席活動，所有已繳交的款項將不獲發還。

4. 參加者請自備足夠飲用水及食物，建議自備可重用之水樽及器具，避免及減少沿途棄置廢物；如有垃圾建議可自攜帶走，切勿在路線途中亂拋垃圾。

5. 建議參加者穿著輕便服裝及運動鞋。

6. 建議參加者自攜毛巾或手帕。

7. 如有需要，參加者請自備雨具及防曬用品。

8. 參加者如於當日下午二時或以前行畢全程，本會已安排免費船隻接載返回東涌新碼頭解散。

9. 如未能在下午二時抵達終點，參加者需自行安排離開方法，終點不會有車輛道路接連。參加者需自費乘坐沙螺灣碼頭開出之街渡離開（街渡開出班次為下午2時20分及下午4時20分）。

10. 如帶同寵物前往，參加者需要妥善照顧寵物。以免影響其他參加者，狗隻必須繫上狗帶。超過20公斤之大型狗隻，必須以不超過1.5米之狗帶牽引。




Route for the walkathon

Tung Chung MTR Station à Tung Chung Fort à Hau Wong Temple à Tung Chung Bay à San Tau Village à Sha Lo Wan (Tung O Path Walk)
Green Sense will arrange ferry back to Tung Chung New Development Ferry Pier (Dismiss Point). It takes about ten minutes from the pier to Tung Chung MTR Station on foot.



Check Point 1: Tung Chung Fort
Tung Chung Fort is a declared monument in an area of 70m x 80m. The fort was built by granite. Three archways are located in the North, East and West. 6 cannons can be found on top of the North arch.                                 
Check Point 2: Hau Wong Temple
Facing Tung Chung Bay, Hau Wong Temple is listed as a Grade 2 historic building and was built in the 30th year of Emperor Qianlong, Qing Dynasty (1765) in memory of Yang liang-jie, a famous official during the Southern Song Dynasty. It is believed that the deity was requested from the same temple in Kowloon City to cease a plague. Yang battled against the Yuan navy at Tung Chung Bay so as to protect Emperor Bing of Southern Song Dynasty and as a result, the temple was built here.

Check Point 3: Tung Chung Stream                     
Tung Chung Stream is the main river in Lantau Island originated from Lei Lek Shan and Tei Tong Tsai, via Shek Mun Kap, Nim Yuen, Shek Lau Po, Ngau Au, Tung Chung Outdoor Recreation Camp and flows into Tung Chung Bay.  It is one of the rivers with high ecological value, where over 20 species of local freshwater fish and species with high conservation value such as Acrossocheilus beijiangensis and Oryzias curvinotus are recorded.     
Check Point 4: San Tau Village
San Tau Village has a long history. Like most villages nowadays, a large number of villagers have moved to urban or overseas, only rows of historic cottages built with blue bricks are left.  The “Gods of the door” and couplets stuck at the doors, you will have some ideas on the living environment and culture of the villagers in the past.
Check Point 5: Lookout pavilion   
On the way to Sha Lo Wan from San Tau, there is a Lookout with pavilion from which you can observe airplanes landing and taking off, one after another at the runway.                                                                     
Check Point 6: Sha Lo Wan
Sha Lo Wan is composed of a number of small villages, including Sha Lo Wan Tsuen and Sha Lo Wan San Tsuen. The villagers were settled long time ago. Ba Kong Temple, dedicated to Hung Shing near the seashore, was built in 1774 at the northwest of the village.

Walkathon Memo

Event Memo


1. Date of the event: 15h April 2012 (Sun)


2. Application Deadline: 31st March 2012 mid-night (Online application is available, please download the application form or online application at: http://greensense.org.hk/walkathon)


3. Payment deadline: 3rd April 2012 (Tue). Please settle the minimum donation on or before the deadline or the application will deem to be cancelled. 


4. Please fax or email the bank in slip or online transfer confirmation page to us with school / company / organization name, name of contact person and contact number. Confirmation will be sent within 2 working days.


5. Schools, companies and organizations can also apply by sending us a cheque or bank in slip with application form via postal mail. 


6. Applicants can also send us the application form for our arrangement first, after confirmation we will issue a “sponsorship form” to participants for fund raising. Participants should pay the minimum donation to Green Sense on or before 3rd April 2012 (Tue). 


7. Certificates and donation receipts will be issued on event day. Except for individuals, all certificates of participation will be issued in the name of teams, schools, companies or organizations.


8. For cheque payment, please send a cheque payable to “Green Sense HK Limited” with the application form or the name of applicant and contact number at the back, to PO Box 454, Tsuen Wan Post Office.


9. For bank transfer, please deposit in the following bank accounts:

11. All participants must read our memo and disclaimer for Green Sense Walkathon 2012 and fully understand the arrangement, important notice and his/her own responsibility. 


Event Arrangement


1. Unless the typhoon signal no. 3 or above or red / black rainstorm warning signal is still hoisted at 8:00am on the event day, the event will be held as scheduled. If the weather is undesired, participants, parents or guardians can decide to participate or not at their discretion.


2. The event will be postponed to 22nd April 2012 if the above inclement weather occurs.


3. Donations will not be refunded or returned if the participant cannot attend the event.


4. Participants should prepare enough water and food. Using reusable water bottles and utensils are suggested, to avoid and reduce the disposal of waste in the walk. Please beware and take away all the belongings including the litter. Littering is prohibited.


5. Participants are suggested to wear sportswear and sneakers.


6. Participants are suggested to bring along towel or handkerchief.


7. Please prepare your own rain gear and/or sun block if necessary. 


8. Free service of ferry is arranged for the participants who finish the route on or before 2pm. 


9. For those who cannot complete the walk at 2pm, the participants should arrange the way to leave by themselves. There is no road connection at the end point. Participants may leave Sha Lo Wan by ferry at cost. (The ferry departs at 2:20pm & 4:20pm)


10. Participants must manage their pet(s) at all times. All dog(s) should be leashed at all times. For any dog weighs over 20kg, the leash must not be longer than 1.5m.

每名參加者最低籌款額為300元，全日制學生最低籌款額為200元。(已包括回程之船費及個人意外保險)
填妥報名表後，請連同銀行入數紙電郵 (info@greensense.org.hk) 或傳真 (3011 9577) 至本會，本會將以電郵或電話確認成功報名。
參加者證書及捐款收據將於活動當日派發。除個人參加者外，其他參加者證書將以團體名義發出。

Registration
The minimum donation is $300 for each participant, the minimum donation for full-time student is $200. (The ferry fare and personal insurance of the walkathon are included)


Please fax or email the bank-in slip or online transfer confirmation page to us with the application form, or with school / company / organization name, name of contact person and contact number after online registration. Confirmation will be sent within 2 working days by email or phone.


Certificate and donation receipt will be distributed on the event day. All certificates will be issued in the name of school / company / organization except for the individual participants.
